Class I: Basic Physics and Math - Newton’s laws, vectors, trigonometry
Class 2: More physics, aircraft movement - Bernoulli’s principle, kinematics
Class 3: Advanced Flight - Different types of planes, competition
Class I
● Part 1: Basic Physics: Newton’s 3 laws with short demos and student predictions
● Part 2: Math: Vectors using arrows, walking directions, and plane motion
● Part 3: Dynamics (Physics) connecting forces to moving paper planes
● Part 4: Paper plane building and guided test flights
● Part 5: Kahoot/online game on topics learned
● Part 6: Paper planes & dynamics explanation using student designs
Class II
● Part 1: Bernoulli’s Principle with simple airflow demonstrations
● Part 2: Video on Bernoulli’s principle with discussion
● Part 3: Center of mass, center of lift using paper clips and paper airplanes
● Part 4: Yaw, Pitch, Roll using body motions and plane examples
● Part 5: Kinematics: tracking where the plane is over time
○ Position, Velocity, and Acceleration: VERY basic idea of change and motion over time
● Part 6: Kahoot again
Class III: Advanced Flight
● Part 1: Control surfaces through paper plane modifications
● Part 2: Different types of planes
○ High speed planes with small wings
○ Low speed long distance planes with big wings
○ Load and weight effects on flight
● Part 3: Video of the longest flying paper plane
● Part 4: Video of the furthest flying plane
● Part 5: Competition to make planes fly the furthest
